Slightly Used Sorcery Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 28, 2026
Slightly Used Sorcery is operated by Vladi Koval (“we”, “us”, or “our”). This policy explains how information is handled when you play the game, use its optional online features, or visit our website.
The short version
- Gameplay statistics are off until you choose Allow and can be disabled later.
- Bug reports are sent only when you choose to submit one. Screenshots and save files are optional attachments.
- A Survival leaderboard may publicly show your Steam display name, avatar, rank, and score.
- Saves and settings are mainly stored on your device.
- We do not sell personal information or use game data for targeted advertising.
1. Information stored on your device
The game stores saves, backup saves, settings, your telemetry choice, random installation identifiers, and leaderboard submission status on your device. On Windows, these files are normally stored in %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\Slightly Used Sorcery\.
Save files may include game progress, inventory, economy, your chosen shop name and specialty, game mode, and a Steam ID or random installation identifier. Local information remains until you delete it. Uninstalling the game may not remove saved files.
2. Optional gameplay statistics
Gameplay statistics are disabled until you choose Allow. You can change your choice in Settings > Privacy. Turning collection off stops future collection, clears queued events, and cancels an active request where possible. It does not automatically delete information already received.
When allowed, the game may send:
- Game, Godot Engine, operating-system, and locale versions;
- Random session, installation/account, and save/run identifiers;
- Game mode, in-game day, and chosen specialty;
- Aggregated progression, economy, crafting, research, customer, skill, haggling, and goose-related totals;
- Save, continue, run-end, game-over, save-deletion, and quit events; and
- Coarse play-time buckets.
These statistics do not intentionally include your shop name, free-form text, screenshots, save-file contents, or Steam display name. When Steam is available, the client sends your Steam ID to our telemetry service. The service converts it to a keyed pseudonymous value before database storage. Service providers may separately process technical request data such as IP addresses and logs.
We use these statistics to understand stability, performance, balance, progression, and feature use. Telemetry events and sessions are assigned a 90-day expiration period; provider deletion may occur shortly after expiration rather than immediately.
3. Bug reports and suggestions
Nothing is submitted unless you choose to send it. A report includes your description, a random report identifier, basic game and device information, locale, in-game day and phase, and—when Steam is available—your public Steam display name and Steam ID.
For bug reports, you separately choose whether to attach a screenshot or current encrypted save file. Screenshots may contain anything visible in the game. Save files contain detailed progress and may include your shop name and Steam or installation identifier.
Reports are delivered through Google Apps Script and Gmail to our support mailbox. They are normally deleted within 30 days of receipt. A report may be kept longer only while needed to resolve an ongoing issue, prevent abuse, or meet a legal obligation.
4. Steam leaderboard
Some full-game builds may provide a public Survival leaderboard. For a qualifying submission, the game sends a Steam authentication ticket, public Steam display name, and score. Valve verifies the ticket and returns your Steam ID.
We may store your Steam ID, best score, public Steam display name, Steam avatar URL, and submission/update times. The public leaderboard may display your Steam display name, avatar, rank, and score. Scores are reported by the game client and are not independently verified competitive data.
Leaderboard records are retained while the leaderboard operates or until a verified removal request is completed.
5. Sharing and external questionnaire
The optional questionnaire opens Tally in your browser without adding a game identifier to the URL. Online-service and report-delivery providers may process technical information such as IP addresses and request logs under their own privacy policies, including in other countries.
We share information only as needed to operate, secure, and maintain the features described above, or when required by law. We do not sell personal information or use game data for targeted advertising.
6. Website analytics
The press-kit and privacy pages use Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure visits and page views. Your browser loads a script from Cloudflare and sends website usage and technical request data to Cloudflare. Website analytics are separate from the game's optional gameplay statistics and are not controlled by the in-game privacy setting.
7. Children and families
The game is suitable for a general audience. If the law where a child lives requires permission from a parent or guardian to enable optional data collection or submit information, the child should ask for that permission first.
If you believe a child provided personal information contrary to applicable law, contact us. We will review the report and delete information where required.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or a copy of personal information.
You can disable future gameplay statistics in Settings > Privacy, decline to send reports, exclude report attachments, and decline the questionnaire. To make a privacy or leaderboard-removal request, email us. We may ask for only the information needed to locate the relevant record and verify the request, such as a Steam ID or game-generated identifier.
We use reasonable safeguards including encrypted network transport, restricted database access, pseudonymous telemetry storage, request validation, and rate limits. No system is completely secure.
